Kuafu (夸伏) is former member of the Ten Sols of the Tiandao Council and was responsible for managing the Power Reservoir in the New Kunlun. He is Yi's best friend and sworn brother, also an excellent engineer and a skilled craftsman. He carries the Sol Seal of Loyalty.
Appearance[]
He has orange fur and small ears, as well as a prominent apricot muzzle. He loves to eat food, including bubble milk tea, so his body shape is big and extremely fat. He is riding a hobber engineering chair is exceptionally comfortable, featuring plush cushions and a hover mechanism. This setup not only allows him to move and adjust his elevation effortlessly during work, but also lets him handle most daily tasks without everleaving his seat.
He wears a teal Craftman's worksuit with a belt on his belly to make bubble milk tea easier to drink and a engineering ear guard on his shoulder. Craftsman's work suit is typically designed with pockets for tools, but Kuafu turned the built-in pouch into a beverage container instead. He believes that having a constant sugar supply is more crucial than quick access to tools. And, Kuafu's engineering ear guards, not only provide noise reduction and hearing protection but also function as entertainment headphones during downtime.
After he joined the Tiandao Council, he started wearing black-teal Changsan and turquoise Magu decorated with a Norigae bearing the symbol of Tiandao council as uniforms, After serving as the Sol of Council, he came to what he is now.

Past[]
In his Soulscape, his life leading up to his time as a Sol is shown. Kuafu was from a craftsman village belonging to the Ying Kingdom. During the Turbulent Era, Ying Kingdom was famous for cultivating and producing many excellent craftsmen, but there were failing in the present because of the uselessness of the craftsman under the development of science and technology. In hopes of revitalizing his homeland, Kuafu joined the Tiandao Academy to study with the dream of re-developing his hometown with his skills. There, Kuafu met Yi, and they quickly became best friends because of the same interests.
Kuafu gradually developed his skills by learning with his colleagues at the Academy, finally succeeded in repairing the power storage columns. He soon redesigned them to connect the anciently radiant pagoda to use it as an energy storage turrets. Then, Eigong a professor at the Tiandao Academy and leader of the Tiandao Council, she appreciated his ability and recommended him as a member of the Ten Sols. Although he felt burdened by taking on the undeserved position, he was encouraged by Yi's vow to "Back to our hometown in a blaze of glory once peace had been restored". Accordingly, Kuafu participated in the Eternal Cauldron Project, vowing to achieve their goals together by supporting Yi's back.
But their oath was not fulfilled. Before New Kunlun's departure from Penglai, Yi found out about Eigong's ugly truth and was chased by the Council while trying to stop it. Kuafu thought there was a misunderstanding between Yi and the Council, and that he was trying to persuade Yi to reinstate Yi's position. However, Eigong brutally murdered Yi to cover up ugly truth - when Kuafu learned of that from surveillance records, he thought his dear best friend had truly died, so he greatly despaired. Later, as the New Kunlun rose to space and tried to esase all of Yi's achievements in Council, Kuafu was able to maintain only Abacus-Ruyi the AI assistant which is Yi's alter ego and Yi's legacy, under his authority. Afterwards, he no longer got involved with the Council' affairs, suffering from the guilt of sitting on the sidelines and having contributed to Yi's death for 500 years.

After 500 years, Kuafu wakes up from dormancy. When the intruder who enters his compound claims to be his dead friend, he doesn't believe it, and sends a general named Yingzhao to stop him. However, when the intruder defeats Yingzhao and enters his room, Kuafu is delighted to recognize that the intruder is Yi, his best friend, who he thought had died a long time ago. When Yi misunderstands that Kuafu had followed the Council and turned away from him, Kuafu apologizes for being a bystander and is willing to accept any punishment. Fortunately, he is able to reconcile with his friend again as Yi understands and forgives him. He is expresses worried about Yi's plan to confront Council, but he willingly joins Yi's plan for atonement.
Finally, at Yi's request, Kuafu evacuates all the Apemen, including Shuanshuan and Shennong, to the Pale Blue Planet. Before leaving, Kuafu offers Yi to go back to Penglai together when everything is done, but again, their promise fails to come true. Although Kuafu is heartbroken that Yi has sacrificed himself for everyone, he follows his best friend's wish of helping the Apemen build their civilization.
Personality[]
Kuafu is a loyal and friendly person. We can see his character in the room inside the Radiant Pagoda where he was staying. Kuafu's room is packed with work tools, his beloved motorcycle, and the iconic windmill from his hometown, Baigong (Hundred Craftsman) Village. Nostalgia fills every corner, with photos of old friends lining the walls—highlighting his sentimental nature. Driven by emotion, he finds it nearly impossible to resist the pleas and demands from Yi.
Although he did not learn martial arts like Yi, because he is afraid of ghosts and rather timid enough to be reluctant to harm others, he supports Yi with his skilled craftsmanship. Dspite his undying loyalty to friends, he often disses Yi's eccentric personality, saying, "To be frank, you don't have particurarly Friendly disposition either." In the middle of the game, when Yi was defeated and imprisoned by Jiequan, and managed to escape and get seriously injured, Kuafu even criticizes Yi by saying, "Is your action really for the cause of the Solarians or to relieve your private vendetta?"
When Kuafu first met Shuanshuan who Yi had cared, he was very reluctant to interact with Shuanshuan because the boy is apeman, citing ethnic differences, superiority, and prejudice. However, Kuafu gradually gets closer to Shuanshuan. Soon, Kuafu becomes truly caring for Shuanshuan, joining the boy's play, helping develop the boy's sense of self, and worrying about boy's health abnormalities. He even praises Shuanshuan for his talent. When Shuanshan presents Kuafu with a pottery that he had carefully crafted following the culture of Kuafu hometown, Kuafu is tearfully delights and truly appreciates.
Boss fight[]
Kuafu is a friendly NPC, hence no direct boss fight is required for him. Instead, Yi has to fight against the General Yingzhao, which was created by Kuafu, as the proxy boss.
Function as an NPC[]
Kuafu receives Jin and certain materials to upgrade Yi's weapon / healing system. He also receives certain items brought by Yi and makes and modifies new weapons for Yi.
Trivia[]
- Kuafu's hometown, Ying Kingdom was accused of forming an alliance with Jie Kingdom, which was ruled by Emperor Jietong, who was also an ancestor of Jiequan, to supply war supplies, During the Turbulent Era. For this reason, Kuafu hates that the tools carefully made by craftmans are used as weapons to kill people.
- However, ShuanShuan comforted his concerns, saying, "Of course, there will be accidental injuries while dealing with the tool, but if I leave the tool without using it for its original purpose because it's scary, it will be like ignoring the person who made the tool."
- unfortunately, the pearls in Kuafu's bubble milk tea cup are not real tapioca pearls, they're just a similar staple. Because of this, Kuafu is sad that he hasn't had a proper bubble Milk tea in 500 years, and when Yi discovers the last bubble tea kit and presents it to Shuanshuan, he is secretly jealous of this boy. When Shuanshuan recognized his mind and hand it over for him, Kuafu said, "It's from your precious old brother, how can I eat it?" He feels guilty that he took away child's, like an adult. but he accepts it because he couldn't just watch an Apeman boy will drink, who doesn't know the taste of bubble tea.
- By the end of the game, Kuafu is the last surviving Solarian.
- One day, Ji predicted to Kuafu that he would end his old age in a foreign land. This has come true in the game's true ending.
- About Kuafu's physical appearance, Yi nicknamed him "Calorie Crusher" and jokes "You'll get stop going up the stairway to heaven", and Shuanshuan calls him "Uncle Chubby." He is self-conscious about his size, so he often expresses desire to have a muscular body, and even once brags himself as a 'Gorgeous Beefcake'. This can be inferred from the introduction of Shanhai 9000 and the appearance, and stone statues built in his section, the Power Reservoir.

After his death, his body and hair transformed into mountains with peach trees, and his blood turned into a river, which offered hope for survival to those who came later.
- This is similar to this game character, who left his village and joined the Council with the aspiration of assisting his village.
